FUNDRAISING
Planting some more trees, or creating a worm farm, or having a vegetable garden makes your school so much more environmentally friendly. But to do all these things or even to do extra things to make your school more environmentally friendly will be a lot of money. That is why fundraising is a great way to raise money. If the whole school contributes it will raise a lot of money, and it is also fun. But if you are raising money for your school to be more environmentally friendly it will be suitable to also make the fundraising activity based on being eco-friendly.
Here are some environmentally friendly fundraiser ideas:
· A ‘Go Green day’, everyone donates a gold coin and wears green
· A competition on which class can be the most environmentally friendly in one week, again a gold coin donation
· Another competition, which class uses the least energy, and turns off the most unused lights.
· Gardening day
· Participating in earth hour
· Get people to give in their unwanted items and have a silent auction, this way, people will get rid of their old things and the school makes more money, you can even use old school items.
· Green cookbook. Get everyone to give in one organic recipe each, out it together and make the schools very own ‘Green cookbook’.
· Have a rubbish free day
